What earns a place in a travel bag? Usually, it is the piece that works more than once: a layer for a cool cabin, trousers comfortable enough for a long journey, or a top that can be worn separately when the itinerary changes. Emirates’ new EK FIT and EK TRAVEL collections, announced on 19 October, approach that everyday question from two directions: clothing for movement and relaxed layers for time in transit.
The useful distinction is between the two ranges. EK FIT focuses on exercise clothing and accessories, while EK TRAVEL centres on softer, casual separates. A shared palette of navy, olive and burgundy makes the collection visually coherent, although the colours available vary by item.

Travel Layers that Work as Separates
EK TRAVEL’s coordinated sets have a more structured appearance than the usual loose sweatshirt-and-jogger combination. The women’s range pairs an oversized, slightly cropped half-zip top with wide-leg trousers. Emirates describes the top as a lightweight, stretch-infused modal fabric. The men’s crew-neck top and straight-leg trousers use a pleat detail along the arms and legs, giving the relaxed shapes a more tailored line.
The matching sets come in navy and olive. A unisex cotton-modal T-shirt adds almond and burgundy to those options. For packing, the appeal of a coordinated set is simple: the pieces can be worn together on a journey, then separated and combined with clothes already in the bag. Before buying, consider whether each half would work with your existing wardrobe.
Small Details for Days with More Movement
EK FIT includes women’s mid-rise leggings, sports vests and fitted half-zip tops, as well as men’s long-sleeve tees, half-zip layers and shorts. The women’s fitted top has thumb holes and a concealed back pocket; the men’s shorts have an inner lining, a drawstring waistband and a seven-inch length.
Emirates describes the technical fabrics as lightweight and moisture-wicking. Those are the brand’s product claims rather than findings from a Treppan wear test. Fit, feel and how a garment moves with you remain worth checking in person, particularly if you plan to use the same pieces for both exercise and travel.
The accessories concentrate on organisation. A navy gym bag includes internal compartments and a separate space for shoes. A nylon cap has mesh back panels, while the insulated stainless-steel bottle includes a sip straw and a MagSafe ring designed to hold a phone. The latter is a distinctive extra, but compatibility with your own device is worth checking before treating it as a reason to buy.

A Useful Packing Test
Start with the journey rather than a complete new wardrobe. Does a layer fit comfortably over the T-shirts you already own? Do the trousers feel right when seated as well as standing? Can a top work on a travel day and with another outfit at your destination? Check the care label, too, especially if you expect to wash clothes during a longer trip.
The collection’s starting price is AED 110, according to Emirates’ launch announcement; individual prices and available sizes vary. It is listed at the Emirates Official Store online and at the brand’s Dubai stores in Al Garhoud, Deira, Sheikh Zayed Road and Town Centre Jumeirah.
The strongest reason to add any travel piece is that it solves a specific problem in a wardrobe you already use. Here, the details to examine are the layering shapes, coordinated separates and practical pockets, rather than the promise of a whole new travel routine.
