Capella Bangkok is a luxurious destination-inspired urban retreat nestled on the banks of Chao Phraya – the “River of Kings.” The hotel is located in the Charoen Krung neighbourhood, one of Bangkok’s historic and most vibrant neighbourhoods. Despite its urban setting, the hotel is a sanctuary of calm, with the river forming the backdrop to every aspect of the resort, from its accommodations to its fine-dining destinations or its award-winning Auriga spa.

Capella Bangkok

Conceived from the ground up by celebrated architecture partnership, Hamiltons International, Capella Bangkok is a sleek and stylish development that breaks down the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces with vast swathes of floor-to-ceiling glass, ensuring panoramic views of the river from nearly all areas of the property.

The interior, conceived by specialists BAMO, is an exquisite tapestry of classical and contemporary design which reflects the multicultural flavour of the district while weaving in distinctly traditional Thai elements.

When guests enter the property, the river, initially shielded from view, dramatically reveals itself through the screened hotel façade. The lobby blends a sophisticated palette of light wood, warm upholstery, marble floors, mirrored surfaces, intricate carvings and crystalline water features. A lobby-length lily pond draws the eye over the treetops of the spa garden and down to the Chao Phraya.

Each guest room is designed as an urban oasis with panoramic views of the river, with many offering tropical outdoor spaces such as rooftop terraces, gardens and spacious salas. The Living Room is an enclosed enclave with floor-to-ceiling glass sliding shutters, wood flooring and eclectic furnishings.

Riverfront Villa

Capella Bangkok boasts the city’s first-ever riverfront Villas, among the most sought-after accommodations in Thailand. Perched on the edge of the river bank, each villa is a spacious and opulent standalone sanctuary with 259 square metres of indoor and outdoor space. Accessed via a private entrance, these villas include a separate living and dining room, a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a large marble bathroom and a powder room.

Each villa has a private jacuzzi plunge pool flanked by lush tropical gardens, while a secluded sala offers the ideal setting for an alfresco afternoon tea or dining experience with family and friends. The experience is enhanced with a bouquet of exclusive complementarity offerings and round-the-clock personalised service by a “Capella Culturist” – Capella Bangkok’s tuned-in local experts who look after every element of their guests’ stay.

Capella Bangkok is a distinguished destination for fine dining in the Thai capital, boasting four river-front venues. Côte is a one-Michelin-starred restaurant helmed by award-winning Chef Mauro Colagreco. Within the light-drenched, elegant interiors, guests are treated to the flavours of the Mediterranean Riviera through colourful and generous dishes.

Phra Nakhon

Phra Nakhon, headed by Chef Kannika Jitsangworn, showcases Thai specialities that draw on heirloom recipes from across the country. The venue has earned an EarthCheck Bronze Certification for sourcing ingredients locally and following zero-waste practices. At Stella, the mixologist rules the roost, serving both well-known classics and house specialities. Meanwhile, the Tea Lounge, serves a choice of premium blends, along with fresh herbal and floral infusions adjacent to the calming lily pond.

Auriga Wellness is a world-class spa spearheaded by the renowned wellness specialists of GOCO Hospitality. Despite its urban setting, This spa is designed to immerse guests in a sanctuary of tranquillity, blending contemporary wellness techniques with ancient Asian wisdom.

“Auriga Wellness is a ‘sanctuary within a sanctuary’ – a self-enclosed full-service spa in the heart of our riverside resort,” says John Blanco, General Manager of Capella Bangkok. “Surrounded by tropical gardens, this is a cocoon where guests and local residents can escape from the outside world and unwind in a deeply peaceful ambience.”

Capella Bangkok

Nestled in the resort’s lush landscaped gardens, this 1,074-square metre facility features seven treatment rooms, including two spa suites, a thermal bathing area, a naturally lit tea lounge with an outdoor spa garden and a well-equipped fitness centre.

An extensive menu of massages, body scrubs, wraps, facials and cleansing rituals offered at the spa use age-old therapies and medicinal herbs – many growing organically in the local area. The spa treatments embrace elements of the various communities along Charoenkrung Road. These include traditional Chinese medicine, Indian healing rituals and time-honoured Thai techniques such as Tok Sen – a hammer massage introduced to Bangkok by settlers from Chiang Mai.

Capella Bangkok

Auriga Wellness also worked with acclaimed luxury skincare brand 111SKIN to design a range of signature facial and body therapies, including dedicated treatments for gentlemen and the award-winning non-surgical lift facial. A series of active classes and lifestyle sessions, such as yoga, tai chi, personal training, TRX workouts and Muay Thai are also offered.

Capella Bangkok

At Capella Bangkok, spa-inspired services permeate throughout the resort, from in-room wellness programmes and yoga mats to healthy dining options, a glistening riverside pool, and highly engaging experiences curated by a team of ‘Capella Culturists,’ who tap into the rich history of this storied neighbourhood.

Capella Bangkok

Charoen Krung, the neighbourhood in which Capella Bangkok is located, is a captivating enclave that reflects the past, present and future of the Thai capital. For centuries, the banks of the Chao Phraya River have welcomed travellers to Thailand, setting the stage for stories to be told and ideas to be shared. Capella Bangkok enables privileged travellers of the twenty-first century to weave their own stories, and experience a new kind of bliss on the banks of the great Chao Phraya.
